Space Away is Danseatelier’s house-artist programme. From 2024 to 2026, we invite two artists at a time through open calls to share and use the studio alongside us for a period of six months. The programme is based on a wish to share resources and support freelance artists, wherever they may be in their careers and whatever they need a studio for: whether that is weekly work, practice, research, rehearsal, or simply spending time in a space dedicated to dance.
In the first edition of Space Away, Autumn 2024, dancer and performer Ane Carlsen and dancer and performance maker Ingeborg Meier Andersen were artists in residence.
In the second edition, Spring 2025, performance artist Astrid Sten Andersen and choreographer Escarleth Romo Pozo were artists in residence.
In the third round, Autumn 2025, dancers and choreographers Karin Bergman and Alice Martucci were artists in residence.
All periods culminate in a public sharing.
