Escarleth Romo Pozo

About the artist:
Escarleth Romo Pozo (NI/PE/SE) creates works that reflect on the precariousness of human connection. She is fascinated by the ever changing levels of resonance and dissonance of the intimate, the hidden and the invisible forces that bring us together or make us fall apart. Departing from metastable bodily states Escarleth's work is a continuous revision of moments of resilience working with the elasticity between resistance and surrendering. Escarleth holds a Master in Performance from London Contemporary Dance School and has worked with a diverse range of independent choreographers and companies across Europe.

About the work:
In 500 days La Mala is making her apparition.

I have used my time in the studio as a place for resonance and solace. A place for mourning and wailing. A place to revisit old rhythms merging it with the present.

This is an invitation to be part of this on-going search and listening.

Astrid Sten Andersen

About the artist:
Astrid Sten Andersen (all pronouns, DK) is a performance artist (or whatever title that will get her the job). Her practice has three branches. One is based in scientific concepts due to her master in Molecular Biomedicine. Almost like an occupational injury science and its methods has made its way to be her preferred muse.

Another branch is based on the club-style Whacking/Punking, where she creates productions with her collective Whacking Daze. The third and last branch is the creation of site-specific video installations, which truly blossomed during a residency in Nuuk, Greenland last year. She is looking forward to grow new branches.

About the work:
Groove Is In The Heartis a solo performance that celebrates the resilience of the heart in all its forms and connotations. Wearing headsets the audience can choose between different soundscapes crafting their own experience. Through dance, monologue, sound and video art, Astrid Sten Andersen wants to take the audience up close to the biomedical processes and turn the symbol of life upside down.’
